I am currently in Mountains with all the skills I use in the teens or 20s, practically the same as the levels they were at back in my first 10-20 hours of game time. Skill loss on death is far too overtuned.

Allow Hugin to recover your gravestone from your previous death(s) at the cost of additional skill points, a certain item sacrifice, gold, or render your character damage useless for the next 10 minutes (again much like WoW). You shouldn't have to spend hours / multiple in-game days to recover from a death and retrieve your previous gravestone, it's just plain stupid. This was also an issue I had after having a run-in with deathsquitoes at an early level, causing me to spend approximately the next 6-8 hours of game time re-gearing and finally getting my original character back. Most people don't have two gear sets, a lot of extra food, etc. With gear, food, and transportation stripped on death, running all the way back in many scenarios such as the one I had just isn't a realistic option. Or, create points within the map to spawn closer to your death. The run back to your grave is a fine mechanic, as seen in other games like WoW (which I may add is already much easier as you don't get attacked in WoW while running back), but there should be another option to recover your gear without being forced to run all the way back, much like the spirit healer resurrection option. With no other gear, no freeze immunity, no real food, I had to resort to freefly/godmode to find my grave and recover it - otherwise it would have been a 3-5 hour ordeal to recover from my most previous death (likely incurring much more deaths which also ties in to problem #2). I have made it to mountains and 3/5 bosses without having to use console commands, but I was forced to use not only godmode but also freefly as after dying in mountains, a mountain event began in my base with my character completely naked and caused me to die several more times and lose the location of my mountain grave.

This is currently my #1 issue with this game. There MUST be a way to recover your previous gravestone(s) without running back to it. As it stands, deaths are far too punishing in this game for two particular reasons: So I've played this game for a little over 50 hours now and there are a few particular things that I feel have to be changed, particularly regarding deaths which is the main topic of this post.
